Integrated NAMEA for land transport in Austria 1995 - 2020
This Integrated NAMEA describes developments in the economic sector 1.1.13 Land Transport in Austria. Specific economic data, such as production value, gross value added, or the number of employees, are compared with environmental data, such as material input, energy input, or eco-taxes.
In the last four years under review, energy consumption has risen again after a sharp decline since 2007. The number of people employed in this sector has increased continuously by around 16% since 1995. Production value and gross value added have fluctuated during this period, with a consistently steady increase observed in the years prior to 2020. The developments in 2020 must be viewed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. A close correlation exists, in particular, between energy and material consumption and production value/gross value added.
