Monetary accounts

In monetary accounts, data already included in the system of national accounts are broken down further by specific criteria. Environmentally relevant flows of funds are used to analyse the effects of environmental policy on the economy.

Environmentally related transfers

Environmentally-related transfers have been attracting more and more interest at national and international level in recent years. Environmentally-related transfers include environmental taxes (eco taxes), environmental subsidies and other transfers of environmental relevance.

Environmental Expenditure Accounts

The expenditures of the public and private sector for environmental protection represent an important aspect of ecologically relevant activities of an economy; the level of national environmental protection expenditure is an indicator of the relative economic importance of environmental protection.

Environmental goods and services sector (EGSS)

An appropriate legal framework and a steady increase in the awareness of issues such as environmental pollution and the conservation of natural resources have resulted in a strong increase in the supply of and demand for environmentally sound (and less environmentally damaging) technologies as well as techniques and products which are able to reduce environmental risks and limit environmental pollution to a minimum.
